Catalonia among the pioneer communities in launching the CCD-UE with the help of IN2
The European Parliament has approved this Wednesday the EU Covid Digital Certificate (CCD-EU), the document that will facilitate movements and transfers between all the countries of the European Union and that should be a reality as of July 1. Even so, there are countries that have already decided to implement it as a pilot test, and Catalonia has been one of the first autonomous communities to do so in our country.
It was launched last Tuesday, June 8, and, in just 8 hours, a total of 50,000 certificates had already been issued. We are very proud to be able to say that this technology developed by IN2 has made it possible for Catalonia to be one of the pioneer communities in making the certificate available to its citizens. With this CCD-EU, a safe mobility environment for citizens will be promoted, facilitating movements between member states, mainly during the summer season and throughout the coming year.
It is a free, interoperable document adapted to the security, confidentiality and privacy standards required by the EU. The system allows you to generate an individual digital certificate, with a QR code, which integrates your health information related to COVID. For this, there are three types of certificates available: vaccination (partially or totally), diagnostic test (PCR or antigen test) or recovery (recovery from the disease). All this, with their corresponding dates, validity, identification data, etc. Each member state of the EU will have the necessary decoding keys to be able to read the QR code of the certificate and validate it.
The CCD-UE can be printed, but it will also be available in digital format through an APP, which allows it to always be carried on the mobile. Its use will have a positive impact not only on tourism but also on economic activity in general.
At IN2 we work to achieve a 5.0 society, where we put the most cutting-edge technology at the service of society. Once again, the intelligent development of technology manages to improve people’s quality of life.
