The Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) was created in 1996 by the City Council of Barcelona with the aim of placing the culture as one of the main assets of the development and the projection of the city, through the management of the equipments and the municipal cultural services, and promote and facilitate the emergence and consolidation of the multiple platforms and cultural projects of private initiative to the city.
The ICUB requested the implementation of a collaborative work tool and document management, whose objectives were to provide corporate documentary support:
- to the communication and archiving department, which consists of sharing documents with the citizen, protected by a temporary password.
- to the press department, which involves publicly providing the media with information on the programs and activities organized in the ICUB.
- to the department of patrimony.
The solution implemented was based on Alfresco, J2EE, Spring and JQuery.
