The Barcelona Port Authority (APB) has the mission to lead the development of the Port of Barcelona, generate and manage infrastructures and guarantee the reliability of services to contribute to the competitiveness of its customers and create value for society.
The APB has requested several projects from IN2 such as the implementation of a document management system based on Alfresco CE; the development of new functionalities and maintenance of the document management platform Alfresco, JIRA and Liferay; the migration and maintenance of the document management platform; Content migration from the old version or modification and extension of the SOA layer to create content via CMIS.
One of the noteworthy projects with APB is the implementation of the Customs Control System for Road Traffic Terminals in the GRIMALDI LINES Terminal. This project is part of the strategy of efficiency and improvement of quality of services undertaken in the port of Barcelona to improve the agility of customs services and inspection and to evolve towards port 7/24.
The final objective was to promote the automation and sensorization of the port. Within this scenario, the specific purpose of this project will be the creation of the Customs Control System (SICAD) for the traffic terminals, specifically the Grimaldi Terminal. The system will make it possible to collect the relevant customs information on the wheeled traffic at the Grimaldi terminal and check with Customs on the customs status of the equipment.
The following benefits sought after the application of the system are the improvement of the functioning and fluidity of the Grimaldi terminal through the automation of procedures and remote authorization; the increase of Customs control through the registration and processing of all manifests linked to the AEAT; and the automation and / or assistance in the procedures eliminating human intervention or allowing its management remotely eliminating the need for personnel.
The technological environment of the solution was Angular JS, J2EE, WSO2 ESB, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Spring WS, Spring Security, Bootstrap, Hibernate, Hazelcast.
